Our Baptism courses are held on Tuesday evenings and consist of two sessions. The next course is on 24th April and 1st May and another on 12th and 19th June.
Many years ago St Margaret's was part of a rota of Christian churches that provided Sunday lunch for the homeless. Fr Peter would like to reactivate this event and has placed St Margaret's on the list of participating churches.
There is still time to enter and we really need some more people for our team. Anyone can register free on www.parkrun.org.uk. The course is 5k, family friendly and people of all ages, shapes, size and fitness levels run, jog or walk and have a go. All you need is to get as many people as possible to sponsor you for doing it. Remember the more sponsorship you get the more we raise for our two chosen charities. And of course we will have great fun doing it along the way too. Please sign up using the sheets at the back of the church and Vicky Phelan will be in contact with further details.
Boxes of offertory envelopes for the coming tax year - 2018/19 - are available for collection from the back of the church at all Masses this weekend i.e. 17th and 18th March. Please do make sure you collect yours if you use this method for your giving.
St Margaret's is linked to St James's Primary school in Strawberry Hill and the school reserves 15 places at Reception to families who worship in our Parish. Richmond Council is now proposing to introduce a CPZ (controlled parking zone) in the Strawberry Hill area affecting roads surrounding St James's. Some parents at the school are concerned that this CPZ might have an adverse effect on current families and on the future uptake of places in our parish and parishes such as St Theodore's and St Francis de Sales, that are further away from the school, thereby jeopardising the Catholic character of the school.
We will be celebrating our 50th meeting on Saturday 24th March. Fr Chris Vipers from the Diocesan Office for Evangelisation will be celebrating with us.
Congratulations to the six altar servers who received their bronze medals at the 8.30 Mass on Sunday 4th March. This represents two years' of service on the altar.
Fr Peter will be giving a talk on The Last Supper and The Meaning of Mass on Wednesday 21st March in the Church Hall.
