Christmas Offerings

Posted

The Collection taken at Christmas is your offering to the clergy of the Parish and together with the Easter offerings, Mass stipends and stole fees make up the annual amount which is then transferred to the Parish Priest on monthly instalments with income tax and NI contribution deducted.

Over recent yars the annual total has fallen short of the recommended amount of £9,500 allowed by the diocese, so your generosity this Christmas will be greatly appreciated.

Christmas Offering envelopes are on the pews this weekend please take one for your offering.

Church Garden

Posted

Last week Judith Burman and I met to discuss the future of the allotments in the Church garden and we hope that there might be some families willing to take over some of the plots.

The produce has been sold after Mass and the income donated to Cafod. They have been going for ten years, the project having been initiated by Fr Jeremy Trood.

There are 12 plots and we thought that to encourage parishioners to take up the plots and sell the produce. Four of the plots would be offered for private use to those wishing to cultivate the others for the Parish's and Cafod's benefit.

We are pleased to say that, this year, once again, we are partnering with St. Luke's, St. Winifride's and The Barn Churches in Kew and newly involved local Twickenham company.

Richmond’s Council Proposal To Create An Exclusion Zone Around The Rosslyn Road Abortion Clinic

Posted

Richmond council is proposing an exclusion zone around the abortion clinic on Rossyln Road that will prevent people from praying/holding vigils or handing out information leaflets within the borders of the zone. The current proposal is to include not only Rossyln Road but also the three surrounding streets and through to St. Margaret's Station. The council has proposed this as a “proportionate” response, in light of the behaviours reported ranging from "displaying images, approaching people and attempting to speak to them, handing out leaflets, and rosary beads”.
