Lenten Project 2018 envelopes

There are Lenten project envelopes available for those who wish to give their alms on a weekly basis. Please take five envelopes for each of the weekends in Lent and return them by posting in the big black box at the back of the church. All donations will go to our chosen charities - Together as One and Mary's Meals.

Thank you for your generosity.

We need you!

The two charities that we will be supporting for our Lenten Project 2018 are Together as One and Mary's Meals, but without fundraising events we won't be as effective. This is where we need you. We know you have great ideas and talents; please put these to use and help us raise as much money as we can for them.

For any ideas or offers of help, please contact Sarah Watts on mckendrysarah@hotmail.com

Lenten Project 2018 - The Results

Thank you very much for voting. As they say on TV, the votes have been counted and independently verified and we can reveal that the two charities we will be supporting for our Lenten Project 2018 are Together as One (TAO) and Mary's Meals.

The results were as follows:
Together as One (TAO) - 131
Spear - 95
Mary's Meals - 164
CAFOD - 67

To remind you, here is little information of the what the charities do and what they would like to achieve with our help. Please support us with your fundraising ideas and involvement to make this a reality.

St Margaret of Scotland Welcomes You

Welcome to our Parish website!

If you are a newcomer to the parish, please come and introduce yourself to us. There are welcome forms in the narthex; please complete one of these and put it in the Presbytery letter box, alternatively please contact the Parish office.

If you are a regular worshipper and notice or know of someone missing because of illness please advise the Parish Office. Fr Peter is very happy to bring them Holy Communion and hear their Confessions

Sacramental Preparation 2017 - 2018

This forthcoming year new arrangements are being made with regard to the preparation for the sacraments. I am sure that I am not the only person to see a sharp drop off in the numbers attending Mass since First Holy Communion in May. This is a welcoming Parish, the standard of Liturgy is good, and children are welcome here. It is not for me to judge such families, and I have no wish to do so, but I do as a Parish Priest have a duty of care towards the precious things of God that runs in parallel with the commitment made by parents when they had their child baptised.

Parish Pastoral Council

The first steps have now been taken to establish the St Margaret’s pastoral Council. The original meeting of Thursday 23rd March was well attended. For which I am very grateful.

The Council will be composed of fifteen members, three from each of the five different areas of Parish Life; Supporting Parish Life; Pastoral Outreach; Liturgy, Catechetics and Care of the Property. The Council members would help animate, with other volunteers the life and mission of the Parish.
