The Jubilee 2000 Drop-the-debt movement had as its aim a ‘settlement’ to cancel the inflated, un-payable debt burdens of the world’s poorest countries, as a way of celebrating the Millennium. This vision generated a unique solidarity amongst campaigners in the poorest and the richest countries, as well as locally. We have pledged ourselves to continue working to help further this cause, with groups of other faiths or none. This involves being ready for letter-writing, lobbying and public action as opportunities come up.
