Altar servers have the honour of assisting the priest in the celebration of the Mass and other ceremonies. Properly trained servers ensure that the ceremonial is carried out in a discreet and dignified manner, thus enhancing the central worship of the community. The duties are not onerous and, by having a large number of servers, the duties can be more widely spread so that no one has to be on duty very often. A rota of duties is provided well in advance and, given proper notice, it is always possible to make changes.
To become an altar server you must have made your First Communion. Boys and girls are welcome and training is provided. We welcome new servers.
