The financial report to the Parish for 2017 is now available. Some highlights are the 70% increase in committed regular giving as a result of the Stewardship campaign and an increase in the offertory income compared to 2016. On behalf of the Parish, the Finance Committee are grateful to all those parishioners who have generously committed to regular giving. If you are a UK taxpayer and have not yet signed a Gift Aid Declaration, we would like to encourage you to do so as Gift Aid brings in a significant portion of our income. As a result of 25 new donors signing Gift Aid Declarations this year, we are due to receive more of a rebate from HMRC from Gift Aid in 2018.
Another highlight is that we had a small surplus (£2k) income over expenditure. Our aim is to increase this to save about 10-20% of our income so that we are covered for any emergency repairs and able to consider future projects.
If you are new to the parish and would like to know more about opportunities to support St Margaret's, please contact Jean in the parish office.
There is a copy of the finance report displayed on the noticeboard in the narthex and if you would like to review it in more detail, copies of the schedules are available at the back of the church.
